The Company USINES MERGER S.A. has been established September 1st, 1947. On June 1st, 1957 it became a Limited Liability Company with a capital of FRF 1,100,000 and the 1st of August 1959 a Limited Company with a capital of FRF 2,200,000.
In October 1974, the corporate capital went up to FRF 4,400,000.

Since 1954 a large part of their production is dedicated to the international market.

In 1970 USINES MERGER received the prestigious " GREAT PRIZE OF THE OSCAR OF EXPORT ". This award was presented to Mr Roger Merger by Mr Valery Giscard D'Estaing, President of the French Republic.

Since 1968 a range of their products is manufactured under licence in MEXICO.

In 1974 USINES MERGER have granted a manufacturing licence to a Polish Company. This Company (BEFARED) employs about 1,000 workers who manufacture exclusively motors and geared motors of our old RM range, under licence, for the whole EAST EUROPEAN COUNTRIES (COMECON).

Since 1995 MERGER has had a presence in 36 countries throughout the world :

Business premises

The Company is the owner of the lands 11, 13 & 15 rue des Frères Eberts and 17, 18 & 20 rue Livio at STRASBOURG-MEINAU. Their cadastral area is 3 hectares, on which are built their factories and office building.

		1 building for administrative and R&D purpose on the same level than the factory n° 1 (developed surface : 2,400 m²)
		1 building for manufacturing purpose, near the first block of buildings (covered area : 16,000 m²)
		1 building for social use (a factory restaurant, working medicine, changing room, lavatory, shower, etc...)

These buildings are of a very modern concept, well distributed and have a possibility of extension of the production shops.

Machine-tools

The Company has a modern production machine tools.

Machines technology is very advanced is very advanced, the majority of them are CNC controlled. CNC machining centers and other special machines, as well as heat treatment of steel are 24 hours per day in operation.

The Company has inside facility for manufacturing welded steel housings and stress relief oven.

Quality

USINES MERGER was the first gearbox manufacturer in France to be qualified by appointed quality certificate RAQ 2 (= ISO 9002) in the year 1985.

Quality organisation complies to ISO 9001, audited by many customers.
Units are routinely manufactured to AGMA parameters when required
